Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show 2011 |
The "Yachting Capital of the World", Fort Lauderdale Florida, is preparing itself for the 52nd international yacht show on October 27-31, 2011. The show counts 3 million square feet in land and in water and is spread over 6 locations. Bus shuttles, water taxis and riverboats ensure attendees can easily navigatie the show. Monaco is preparing itself for the 21st Monaco Yacht Show this year. The show data are from September 21st until September 24 2011. 500 Exhibitors with well known expertise will present top quality services and products. A selection of 100 exceptional super and mega-yachts from 25 to over 90 m long are presented by the most renowned brokers and shipyards.
Tomorrow the Diana 408 will be delivered to her owner. The sea trial that was done 2 weeks ago went perfect. She's a true sea worthy yacht with all luxury and comfort one could wish. Eye catcher of this design is the owner's deck with the luxurious master stateroom at the foreside with a 270 degree panoramic view. The Diana 408 comfortably handles up to 10 guests, including the owners. On the lower deck we will find four double guest rooms, each with bathroom, crew mess with pantry and small galley. The main salon, dining room, powder room and nanny's cabin with bathroom will be on the main deck.
And do not forget the Jacuzzi, 3 sunbathing areas, outside shower and small bar on the sun deck.
The yacht industry seems to be slowly recovering from the recession. We attended several yacht shows (Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, Monaco Yacht Show, China (Shanghai) International Boat Show) and noticed that during these shows the visitors increased and that the demand for new yachts expands. This is also noticeable in our office. The first new order we won is of a 34m yacht to be build in Turkey. The second order (code name: Jericho) is a 33.5m motor yacht which we've designed for a private client.
This yacht has a maximum speed of 13.5 knots and a range of 3800nm and shall be built, finished and painted according to the internationally accepted best yacht standards. The spacious dining area, sunbeds, salon and bar easily handles up to 10 guests (including the owners). The guests stay in comfortable cabins and will be served by 4 crew. Besides that we are working with several shipyards on new inquiries.
Because of the increase in work load we've also adopted two new employees. They are very experienced with the work we do and we're happy to welcome them in our team. 2D-construction, 3D-modelling and many other fields of yacht design are well known by them. Besides our new employees we also have two students that join our team during a couple of months. They're both working on their graduation project and we are pleased that we can assist them in this. They give us new insides, we think educating is very important to keep the quality of the dutch design firms this high. It's pleasing to see that a student learns a lot from our work in such a short period. When these students finished their internship with our company we certainly want to assist new students. It was a perfect day for the launch of this beautiful yacht. Naval architecture and exterior lines are from Diana Yacht Design and the interior is designed by Jacques Grange. The Diana 408 is a yacht with steel hull and aluminum superstructure. 10 Guests can stay the night in 5 staterooms and will be served by a crew of 12.

World Superyacht Awards winner 2011 |
Yesterday ATTESSA IV won THE BEST REBUILT YACHT AWARD at the World Superyacht Awards 2011.
ATTESSA IV is awarded during a fantastic event in the Guildhall, in the centre of London. We would like to congratulate the complete building team, the team at WYG, the shipyard, the yacht designer Glade Johnson Design and team, the captain, and the yacht's owner.
ATTESSA IV was originally launched in 1999 as Evergreen, and at the moment of (re)-launching she entered the world top 25 private super yachts by length.
This project is more than just a refit, it is a re-built, there is not much on the yacht what is left untouched. The complete interior, exterior and engineering were updated. In fact it is a new yacht with excellent quality.

After months of calculating, fitting and drawing she's ready!

On friday June 11th 2010, Hakvoort launched the hull of project 417,
at casco builder/shipyard Made in Moerdijk. With over one year to go before the final launch, the casco will now be towed to shipyard Hakvoort in Monnickendam where she will be finished. Naval architecture is done by Diana Yacht Design. This stylish yacht can accommodate 10 guests in 5 staterooms, 4 crew members in double cabins each with private bathroom and a captains cabin.
She comprises a master stateroom with panoramic view, a sky lounge, Jacuzzi, bbq and bar. And not to forget a folding out swimming platform.
